Has been some time since I blogged here. Frankly I just plain forgot all about it. I noticed a topic "blog" in my list and what do you know. Here I am again. This may happen again. A senior month! I got the job with the census. I am a crew leader. So far I have put in maybe 80 hrs in total including training and canvasing. I don't have a crew yet they will join me later. Personally I don't think I will need a crew to do the assignments I have but I'll do whatever they want.
I worked a an election judge too what fun that was. Being an election judge required a 15 hr day. Polls open at 6 am and close 7 pm. Then a couple hrs to transmit the results, clean up and drop off the paper results. The pay for this was much more than I thought. It was $170 and I thought when I signed up it was only $20 or $30. A pleasant surprise.

The Beginning of My 2010 Blog
This is the beginning of the Retiree Blog for 2010. My name is Robb I'll be 64 on Jan 1, 2010. I'm married and my wife is not retired she works as a Nurse Practitioner and makes a nice salary. Most of my income comes from my Soc Sec check.
Tomorrow I am taking the Census takers test. I took the sample test and if I get anything wrong on the test tomorrow it will be out of boredom. Will I get the gig ? Don't know what they are looking for. I present myself well, speak well and have an affable personality. On the negative side I am tall (6'5" 245 lbs) and to some people I can be very frightening before they get to know me. I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon when I return home how it went.
As for now I need to sweep the house, get dinner started, pick-up the step daughter, take the dogs out. Oh yea the dogs 2 of them one a pit bull the other a Boxer-Lab mix. Really are great pets. Pit bulls are nothing like the negative publicity they get. They are the most loving of all dogs I have ever known. The mix is a 1 yr old and could have been named Marley! He is a handful and has to be caged whenever we are gone or else he gets concerned. worried, scared and starts to chew. Chews anything everything. He eats everything too. Just today I had a gallon of water I had blanched some brussels sprout in last night and he drank it all inside of 5 mins. It took me 4 hours to drink the gallon of liquid for my colonoscopy. Figure that out will ya???
I was supposed to go work out today but got sidetracked. I worked out yesterday and will do it tomorrow, lift some weights and swim. Used to run but the cartilage in my knees is getting a bit thin so I'll stick to the pool for my cardio.
Signing off for today.
